Earth Hour

"My GShock was the only thing that can illuminate"

We pledged and we did it.

Having only the fan on, time now is 9:16pm. The lights are off, the TV is off. Chatting in the dark for close to 45mins now.

I wondered if we can survive the hour at first, but i guess we can.

Not alot of people in my neighbourhood have their lights off as i expected.

But i vote Earth and i delivered my promise.

I QUIT!

Dear "Boss",

I'm writing you this email because I think my time working at "The Company" has come to an end. The income I earn from "The Company" is not satisfactory for me. An employee of my skill level should be appreciated. And by "appreciated," I mean quit being so cheap and start forking over the cash, buddy! I broke three of those stupid stress balls last week. I'm pretty sure that's a sign that I'm under too much pressure at "The Company" so I think it's time for me to find a better place to work. The other employees are a bunch of whiners. I guess I can't blame them too much, considering how crappy it is to work at "The Company". And yes, I do realize the irony of me complaining to you about my coworker complainers.

You sure have some kind of crazy genetic thing going on: your shoulders are so sloped that any blame slides right off you. Also, you react way too harshly to minor little things at work. Quit crying over spilled milk and grow up!

You micro-manage as if you think you can do everything, but you need to let people do their job themselves; back off! Besides, the benefits at "The Company" aren't very good. I can get better elsewhere.

I hope "The Company" burns down,
Mr Electronic Neo

P.S. Not only are you a bad boss, you're ugly too! Sure sucks to be you.

-----

Heehee.
This is so cool.

It's not up to us.

Discovery Channel is still my favourite channel.

Today i caught a 20mins portion of "Tribe", showing the living conditions of the Sabah Forest People. I can't help but wonder (although this is not the first time) if i were given a choice,
would i choose choose to live in this cosmopolitian city, stay in a concrete flat, enjoy the air condition, watch a color TV, yet i have to work a 5days stressful week, only enjoy the weekends.

Or would i choose to live in a world where there is only Mother nature and human.
Where we grow crops and eat whatever we have.
Stress? Maybe alittle. We will worry if we have food to eat tomorrow.
Other then that, we get to live to a ripe old age. Really spend time with family and friends (When was the last time you really spend good time with your family and friends? And i mean really good time.)

Imagine, not having to go to work.
There's nothing to compare. No competition.
Not having to worry about "Hey look , who and who is doing better then us".

The kids would not have to go for neverending enrichment classes.

However, we would not get to travel, see the world. Would that be a plus instead?

But who cares what we think? Here in Singapore, i don't really get to choose.
This is truly an enviroment where you have to work hard, no matter you like it anot.
Without the money. There's really nothing.

Sad.

Uniquely Singapore.

I have a IT degree

This morning, the coffee auntie in my office showed me a three pin plug and ask if i can fix it if she gets me a new one.

Mr Neo: "No leh, 我不会"
Auntie: "不会?"
Mr Neo: "Ya, 不会."
Auntie: "为什么不会? Aiyoh, 哪里可能不会的."
Mr Neo: "Auntie, 我读电脑的,不是读电子啊"

And the auntie mumble to herself and goes into the account department and start ranting about me. It's so so typical of her. But have to go about complaining to her that i don't want to help her anot? Aiyoh so auntie leh.

Anyway. I do know how to fix. But i have a tender to submit on Thursday morning, i have a appointment in the morning to rush to, i have so many things to do! Still must change 3 pin plug ah?

Anyway, later in the afternoon i heard that the vacum cleaner is totally wasted. Even if repair the plug, also would not work.

Who did i hear from leh? The account ladies lor.
Hahaha.

Baby, 你好。

Every morning, i wake up and see Mrs Neo in the living room, watching TV before leaving for work.
Every evening, i drive to her office and pick her up. I come back to work and see Mrs Neo.

By the days, her stomach and our babies grow a little bigger.

Heehee, it's so amazing, even until today. It's such a joy.
And now, she's having so much of behaviour that are similar to me.

I wonder how come during pregnancy she changes her appetite, actions and taste to one that is so similar to mine.

This friday, we are going to see the gynae again!
Yeah, can see our babies again.

WohOoo!

Wedding Bells

Quite a few of my friends are getting married.

As we come to a certain age, the amount of people getting tied in the knot seems to get higher and higher.

However, today i recieved a SMS from Roger, my army camp mate.
Not from my team, but he's one person that stands out of the crowd.
The complain king of the platoon. We call him Colonel Ho. Heehee.

Everything you can imagine, he can complain. And he will do it, no matter what rank you are!
He just don't care. Most of the time, he really complains about minor things, but we are really so used to his complaining that we just let him blabber on and on until he gets tired and do it anyway.

When was Army a place to negotiate anyway.

Anyway, we always talk about marriage, flats, honeymoon, girlfriends and cars during our in camp training and he will talk about everything, except, girlfriends and getting married.

Then he drops the bomb and invites me for dinner on the 19th May 2009!

Shotgun ah?

Heehee. Congrats still.

Missing - Reward, None.

23th March 2009, it was suppose to be a day a lady starts work on a new job.

As a Account Executive in my company
- A US MNC, the only US manufacturer that sells direct here in Singapore.
Gobal presence in more then 38countries (I think).

But, she didn't turn up. Haha. Such a joke.
Signed the appointment letter, agreeded on the date, but didn't turn up.
She decided to stay at her current company. My guess is that they counter-offered her a better or a package that matches our offer.

Doesn't affect me though. Rather, i felt it was very funny.
Heehee.

Amidst all the brain draining work, this just makes my job so much more fun.

Life, it depands on how colorful you decide to paint it.

I am a slacker

I've been slacking this week.

Doing nothing much. Not bothering about much. Simply in a world of my own.
Hai.. Morale is low.

Next Monday a new lady will join us. Today they just confirmed a new guy.
I don't care.

Nothing to do with me.

No mood to work. And the problem with sales people, when we no mood to work, we can don't work. Haha. Wonder if it's good or bad.

Tomorrow have to collect another tender document. Another tender to rush.
Well at least it'll keep me a little occupied.

Let me finish slacking for a week then say.
One more day to the weekend.

This weekend have to go running again. Time my 2.4km run.
Have to pass, have to pass. Cannot go remedial training.

Must pass, must pass.

Inspection

This is my third year now with my current car.

So as usual, it will have to go for an inspection this year and mine's due in May 14th.
Anyway...

I went today since i was free and there was really no one at the centre.
Thus no queue = happy me.

Before going in, i wanted to remove my red car mat to avoid attention. But it's so empty that i drove straight into the inspection centre and it's my turn already!

I flick my secret switch off and act blur from that moment on.
Paid up, walk by the side of the inspector and went pass a few stations.
My headlight fail (for i covered it up to make it smaller),
my bulbs fail (for i changed it to white color),
my interior lighting fail (for you are not supposed to have interior lighting at all).

But with my sleek black pants, cool faint blue shirt and striking tie, i walked up to the inspector at the end of the station with a "i don't know anything" look and ask if i pass.

Knowingly he told me i can't do all those thing and i told him i really don't know?!
"Why do they sell those things then?" i asked as blur as i can.

Well, he told me no, they are illegal and i cannot use them, the next time.
Heehee...

He decided to pass me for this time and off i go with the certificate to renew my road tax.
Next inspection will be 2 years time.

I think i should have sold it away by then.
Yippie so happy.

Else i would have to remove all those stuffs and go back for reinspection (pay another fee), then fix all the things back (another price).

Hoots!!!!!!

Samsonite

Collected this a couple of weeks back.

I was looking thru my photos in the mobile that i saw this.

It's a free gift! And a great one too. The Samsonite Freeminder. Cabin Size. We have a AmericanTourister, a brand from Samsonite that we are currently using, and it sure is sturdy.

Both comes with lifetime warranty. Or is it 10years. A definate good buy. And in this case, a great prize!

Why did we get it? It was a promotion from DBS for certain amount we spend overseas during our Macau - Hong Kong Trip.

Pretty neat

Tsk!

Pregnancy is not only for the women.

Men are inevitably swivelled, into a turmoil of events that he least expects.
Not that i am complaining.

However i felt Mrs Neo is getting so cute. In her effort to try to not disturb me from my sleep.
No matter how uncomfortable she would feel, she would keep it to herself if i am deep asleep.

But she have to let me know at some point of time right?
Eg. If she's having a headache in the middle of the night, she gota tell me right? So how does she do it to the best of her efforts?

Haha, everytime i toss around in bed, she will "tskkkk, aiyah" or make some noise.
Heehee, being so careful about her, i will wake up and ask what's wrong.

Hahaha. So now, (after a few night of experimenting) i realised she will only make noise to try to get my attention when i am turning my sides or tossing around bed.

Haha. It's so cute.
Life, we experience different things everyday.

We are preparing ourselfs for "Parenthood". I guess we will mature even faster.

I will save for my kids, i will work hard, i will be a good example, i will be a good husband, a good dad and a fifial son. However, i will never grow up.

I will be what i am, talk the same and never grow up. Heehee...

Candy Bar

The new Nokia E63.
I wonder what difference it have from it's E71? (Other then the color)

I always love candy bar phone with Qwerty keypads. Not only is it great to punch in text, it looks very fierce.

Makes my colleague think i am a busy person. With appointments that flood the screen (but the appoinments are real).

I cannot live without a smart phone. It's the one thing i need to have to sleep.
If i do not punch in my appointments, to-dos, follow ups, emails for the night, it would keep me awake all night.

But once i punch it in, i can sleep like a log.

My current Samsung SGH-800 (They call it the blackjack) serves me well.

However with limited internal memory, which is rapidly filling up. It's starting to run slower then ever.

Even with a 4GB external microSD, it does not seems to help as the "important programs" that needs to be stored in the internal memory already is clocking up so much space.

But would not be looking at changing my phone for the next year bah...
Save money, save money. Don't waste money.

Asia Sales Meeting

Last week, the President of the company dropped me an email.
We were supposed to have a tele-conference over a program that we all have on our laptops.
However as many of us have the program malfunctioning, he decided to use Skype instead.

--

Hi CT,

I realised i do not have your skype address. Please email me your contact and i will add you in for the 4.30pm sales conference

Regards,
xxx

--

The President is asking for my Skype. But my nick is "CrouchingHousefly".
Wow how impressive will that be? Haha. I got his nick from another colleague and added him instead.

At 4.30pm sharp.
I was invited into the conference call. I was the last 4 to be invited and as he started adding the rest of the group, i realised that those in the chat before me must have seen the following.

"xxx have invited CrouchingHousefly to join the chat"

Hahaha. I always knew my nick was unique.

Save the Earth & a great video moment

Join me, and a billion other.

http://www.earthhour.org

Earth Hour will happen on the 28th March 2009, 8.30pm.
Pledge yourself, your company, your building(if you owe one) and switch off the lights at 8.30pm, local time, whereever you are on planet Earth.

It's an act to show how much you care and how that tiny effort can save so much resources for us.

I've pledged.

And i think i'll probably go take some pictures or videos of the hotels/Singapore Flyers?/buildings that will shut off their lights at 8.30pm.

Join us.

Lovely

Heehee.. i saw this pic from shuben's blog.

It's really one of those classic pictures that i love.

Just Do It?

This, i have been thinking over coming 6 months now.

Seriously its one of those 1000 things to do this lifetime.
I'm not getting any younger by the days. I'm going to be a father soon. I presume (hope) that i will change my car in 2years time.

I wanna do a full car sticker for my current car. When i am young!
Can't be wait until 40 years old then start to do right?

I know i should save the money for my kids.. Yesss.... I know....
That's why i am thinking for 6 months liao. First 3 months is thinking if i should do it or add more bodykit. Next 3 months is if i should save the money.

Now the question in my mind is. Will i regret if i don't do it?
It's not cheap. But it's not a hefty sum either.

Should i strike out one more item from the 1000 things to do this lifetime?
Should i just save the money. It's just a car. As long as it moves can liao mah.

哇靠!

Picture not by me. It's taken from a website of the company i wish to do up the sticker with.

Headache

Ever since Mrs Neo is pregnant, we are always careful to where we go.
No crowded places, no places with polluted air, no this, no that.

Basically, for the past 3mths+, we have not gone shopping, no gym, no swimming, no nothing.
It's really giving me a headache. A serious one.

Everyday after work we would drive straight home, sleep very early too. Haha.

So finally today, i can't take it anymore and we decide to dine out.
We went to a "clean & air-condition" place - The Changi Airport Staff Canteen (Terminal 2).
We like it there. The crowd is minimal. Maybe due to the fact that not much people know how to get there.

The drive out was wonderful. We have fresh air, my headache was gone and i felt alive again!

---

I've been thinking of starting a photoalbum of all the things we did and the amount we spend during this pregnancy, yet i always did not get my hands started on it.

I hope i start soon, before i give up on the idea totally.
By next weekend! I will do it. Gota go buy the album first.

Where were you, when i made history?

Most of the offices we work in have a release button and beside it, always an emergency release button.

Well i am the type that always feel like smashing it. (Who doesn't? Hehee)
But who would dare to smash it for no reason? Which boss would tell you to do it for fun?

Yet today, i was given the task to smash it!
Our door was locked and we can't release it, locking us in.

Without thinking, i punch it in.
The glass shatter and the door disconnected.

Wah shiok man. Another 1000 things to do in a lifetime done.

Shiok la.

The person i report to just came back from a Thailand trip. Got me a tee which means so much.

ShowTime!

Just like a launch.
Today i fianlly release all the drafts that i have been saving for the past 12 weeks.

I guess that explains why i seem like i am not posting anything.
Well. The first trimester is over and it's time to share my joy with the whole world!

Family, Friends, People of the world!
Congratulate me!

For Mrs Neo & I, We are awaiting the arrival our our little twin stars.

Shower me with all the blessings!

Saturday, March 7, 2009

12Weeks 1Day

A step across the first trimester.

Heehee.. The results for the OSCARS also proves to be good. The twins are doing well, growing up well and making good progress.

Mrs Neo is starting to get rashes from the stretch of the body as the babies start to grow ever faster. Morning sickness (which happens in the evening) was also unavoidable.

This morning we also went to buy tonic, chinese tonic. Ginseng and some others.
It amount up to a surprising figure, which i would not bother to mention.
But that actually inspire me to keep all my receipts and see how much money i spend until the delivery of the babies.

It's going to be a smacking huge sum!
Haha. But for them, i'll be glad to pay every single penny.

This joy is indescribable.
