Once in a green moon, as good as never.

Today, as expected is a true blue monday.

Everything is wrong. Overworked, overloaded, thrown with tons of things which is ridiculously impossible to handle, for one person.

I guess my previous resolution can no longer stand. I'm like stretched to the max.
A typical sentence to describe my situation is "Overworked, squeezed too dry".

That's why people always say. True or not, nobody knows at all, as most people say that when they feel so wrong at work and now i feel so wrong at work.

A 9am - 9pm work schedule for coming 3weeks, 5times a week seems evitable to stretch even longer. In my case, even forever!

Good Night!

Covered in our favourite blanket.
Waiting for 4thJuly08.

5 Days to Kuala Lumpur, 10 Hours to Monday Blues

A micro throbbing headache bugs my brain. Its not enough to take MC. But it seems enough to give me a ultra bad Monday, due to the bad sleep i anticipate.

This coming week will be buzzling with activities. I have a tender to submit on Wednesday and hopefully a big project to close latest Friday.

So Monday - Tuesday will be packed with tender submission's preparation. Wed a slight break and Thurs, Friday awaits the news of who finally gets the project. Thats amist the tons of job and visits i have to do.

But across the steep hill, it's a direct flight to KL! I plan it to be a crazy Eat EAt EAT weekend!

Friday night to check out the vicinity. Have room service supper.
Saturday, a american breakfast morning, tim sum lunch and ba kut teh dinner followed by some tibits as supper.
Sunday, a american breakfast (with a focus intent after yesterday's experience), chinese lunch and hopefully a seafood dinner.

That's before we head back to the airport for the flight home.

Ahhh... Time to hit the pillow before it all can happen. Life is full of choices. But sometimes, you just have to go a way you don't really want to.

Good Night.

Aromatheraphy Body Massage

Yesterday was a full day outing, bringing mum to Kenko for a 2hours foot and body massage. My niece decided to tag along, so during the massage period, Mrs Neo & myself brought her around to OG Chinatown, went for deserts, shopping @ China Square and also Liang Court for some snacks before heading to send the little girl home.

Reaching her place around 5pm, dilly dally, we had dinner, took another short walk before heading home.

During the walk i told Mrs Neo:
"Ohhh you must be tired today, later go home i massage you ok."
Bleaming wth glow, she smiled cheerfully and nodded her head.

Back home, everyone took their shower and headed to bed, except Mrs Neo who still wants to watch TV and told me she don't need the massage already.

So i went into the room, check my emails, surf some forum before Mrs Neo came in 2hrs later...

-----

Mrs Neo: Deardear, just now the massage still valid anot?
Mr Neo: (acting excited) Yes! Of Course! (stretching and warming out his hands)

If you live in Singapore

Today i did the most creative thing in my life, till today.

Lying on my desk is a copy of "2008 Trio Software Calendar".
I picked it up to check on the next coming public holiday. It's National Day. 9th August 2008 (Saturday).

For my company, if the holiday falls on a weekend (we work a 5days week), there is no off-in-lieu or any additional 1 day leave. It's just eaten.
However, that aside i wen back to January and counted the total number of Public Holidays in Singapore in a year.

The result is a number that just manage to make it into 2digits.
11days.

I then based it on a average living age of let's just say 88years old. Quite a ripe of age right?
You basically get to enjoy the following breakdown:

Lived: 1056 months
Worked: 600 months (Starting @ 20, Retire @ 70)
Holiday: 32.26 months

It's not easy living here hor.

Sweaty Saturday Morning

Today is the x number of time i polish my car.
That's the problem with a white car. You can keep it clean cause you can see all the spots of dirt.
But when it gets dirty, the whole world see the stains.

So shiny, it reflects!

Some Developments at Last!

As soon as i heard that they are setting up site office on the plot of land to be built,
i went down to record the development.

The findings are in the picture below.

Yups, it's just a container acting as a site office and one small crane, which i believe is to be used to dig some small potholes for the signboards and other small works.

But now that they are doing something really means a lot to us.
We heard that HDB can build flat up in 3years (no hiccups). So we are eager to get our flats in 2010. Little development for now, but it's a start!

And today! We went to recce the neighbourhood. And took a signature picture of the LRT.

I hope the next time would have more developments!

Congratulations!

Felicia, congrats! You are number 12.

In my current job coming 2.5years now. I've seen 12 people leave the company.

It's becoming a cold, cold place.

Why is there such a high turn-over? I don't know. Is it the colleague? Is it the management? Is it the benifits? Or is it just bad fengshui? Nobody really knows and everyone have their own explanation about things.

But one thing i realise is that many whom left are all my good friends, friends whom come into my life as my colleague, but jump out of this circle quickly to become a friend and no longer working partners.

John, for example. Barely here for 6mths. We became good friends and still are in contact till date. He being my emcee for my wedding and of course i was there to witness his.

With Felicia leaving, i'll have one less chit chat partner. One less to complaint about those fussy designers. One less to carry carpet samples with me.

Anyhow, good things will always come to an end. I must say all the best to her!

Congrats again, for being number12
Remember to invite me for your wedding ah!

My Lancer Vs His Rex

I was surfing around the forum for some good deals on wipers, which i guess mine was due to an early change as i brought those cheapo ones the last round and came across this post with such a catchy topic "My Lancer Vs His Rex"

The following is the post (Cropped)

My mission was to drive home, have a shower and then go to bed. Except that a certain white rex would not allow me even the luxury of peaceful driving, that warm and humid night.

Driving in the middle lane at 70kmh along Thomson road is hardly something I regard as adventurous, much less threatening or provocative. But the driver of the white rex seemed to be of the mindset that a lancer travelling in the manner I described must be game for an impromptu race. I first spotted him in my rearview mirror, 2 bright spots of HID lamps, accompanied by the sound of the boxer rumble and the occasional HKS SSQV BOV. He came on fast and furious, and somehow, like a moth drawn to a candle, became drawn to the rear of my car. He started tailgating me like a dog. I was tempted, yeah sure I was, but I decided that I would be merciful then. So I signalled left and waved at him to pass. That idiot, instead of passing by, followed me, this time even closer.

This went on for about 400m or so. My endurance hit its limit. The demon of rage took over then. I downshifted from 6th to 4th gear, and floored. 595 horses were unleashed, and my car started to rocket forward like a round fired from a rifle. I was thrown back in my seat against the comforting bolster of the recaros.. The rex tried to accelerate as well, as I heard his engine revs, but I think that his tyres must have caught in molasses or something. Or maybe he was in reverse gear. He disappeared in my rear view mirror and ceased to be the nuisance he was within seconds.

----

Knn, Evo say Evo la...
Say until like a normal Lancer can outrun a WRX like that...

If he is so smart, why don't he stop at the next traffic light. Wait for the Rex to pull up beside him,
reverse and give the Rex a 5 car length head start when the light turn green leh?

号练!他妈的!车快就很厉害吗?

6th gear 很厉害啊? 我也有吗!不过是 reverse 吧了吗。

Wolverine

Today wolverine park beside me again.
It's this van. Stays in my same block. Always like to park beside me, i really wonder why.

Vans are nicknamed the wolverine because i read about someone's car being scratched while parked beside a van. The van driver actually swing open the door right above the bonnet of the other saloon car (as these big vans are really high) and in went a family of 5. Due to the weight, the door sank into the car's bonnet, causing a dent. To add to the impact the driver wanted to close the door and scratch the whole bonnet.

So it looks like wolverine just visited. I hope this wolverine parked beside me will always be tame and not show me any special power.

New Travel Agency

The New "Neo Travel Agency".

A simple get away to Kuala Lumpur have now expanded to 11pax from the original 5pax!
Today the business manager of the company (Me) did the booking for the air tickets and called the hotel representative (My sister, doing coporate booking for me) to inform her of the number of room and all other details.

No wonder advertisments always used the "Backed by popular demand", have not even went on the trip one of my sister already asking me where is the next trip.

Woo... brisk business man.

Best Regards,

Mr Neo CT

吃人鱼

First time experience from all of us (Me, Wife, Mum).
The fish spa (as far as i know), originated from Shenzhen (i think).
Over there, you can soak your whole body into the pool and allow the fishes to nibble on your dead skins.

Sounds like a must try!

So driving away this morning at 11.30am, we arrived at Singapore Flyers to be in total awe of the scale of this massive wheel. Wah, the carpark even had to be build across the road, my personal guess is to allow the guest of Singapore Flyers to have a clean, clear view and not to clutter up the main building. Even the ticketing counter is a building away.

Kenko is on the 2nd floor of Singapore Flyers. Walking outside the shop, everyone was sitting calmly with their feets soaked in the pools filled with fishes. Looks totally relaxing!

Not wanting to waste my money, ($30 for 30mins/pax), we cleaned our feet and i told Mrs Neo...

Mr Neo: Darling! Sit this pool, less people so the fish should be hungrier!

Ohhh boy am i right! Those harmless looking fish started to nibble, suck, bite, whatever you call it on our feets! It felt just like electric current running up our feet!
We started screaming, (yes, we. Me too) and laughing, not wanting to put our feet in at all. We took a good 10 minutes before we finally came to terms with that feeling and enjoyed looking at the fishes nibbling at every corner of our feet.

Breaking the silence after 20minutes...

Mum: I think these are piranhas.
Mrs Neo: ?!?!
Mr Neo: If they are, they should have finish eating up your feet by now
Mum: No la, they are small mah, when they grow up, they will remove them
Mr Neo: Hahaha, 笑啦你
Mrs Neo: Hahaha...

妈妈的生意超好!

Happy Birthday To Me

It's still early, but here's my super early present!
My wife got this 250GB portable HDD for me !!

I really love it! It's such a smart present.. Heheee..

Short Escapes

Dead in it tracks now, we've decided to put off the Taiwan trip in September officially, due to the many earthquakes and natural disasters happening in the asia regions.

Well, i guess it's quite a good move, although my mum's pretty upset as she was looking forward to it since starting of the year. However safety comes first. We will surely be there early next year! For sure!

To make up, we actually organised a "3days escape to Kuala Lumpur". Which is to depart on friday night and get back on Sunday evening. No application of leave required! However airasia's ticket is always increasing by the week. The later you book, the steeper the price climbs. Bo bian lor, we are asking my sisters along and those with little children don't have their passport yet to do any booking. May end up taking JAL (which happens to be my favourite airline other than Thai Airlinr), round trip tickets cost $200+.

Then we will just get a suite, those 3room type and play it out there. (Currently planning on The Legends, as Time Sq is fully booked)

There's plans to go Penang at the end of the year , my sisters just love me to brings their kids around, they think without me, they will never bring them out, i think it's just that they will never have time to come out with these ideas and plan! Anyway i don't mind as i really love to travel.

Then there's going to be a Bangkok trip (December '08) with Elwyn and Dandan (El's gf). Dan actually asked me about it yesterday. Being crazy, i obviously agreeded immediatly.

"Even if just 4 of us, we also go!". I exclaimed.
(ya.. Of course i dragged my wife in too. heehe)

So i guess what remains of the year will be such. I am thinking, should we not go to Penang with my sisters, then i will go on a snokelling escape with my wife.

---

After close to nearly a week of rest, tomorrow i am going back to work. Recharged? Yes. Engergised? Definately Not!

Photos & Videos are a capture of a lifetime

It's been in my mind for a while now, to buy a DSLR, i even went pass some shops to review the approximate prices. Personally, i have a very good point and shoot camera already, 8Mpx.
Well what else can i ask for? Someone who is not a pro at all and shoots mainly my own car mainly for the modifications that i do, other then overseas and sometimes family gathering.

But the feeling of owning a DSLR just overwhelms me.
Buttoday. I read an article online.
I was actually searching for articles on lens and viewfinders. Ended up i chance upon a page that reads "10 Reasons not to buy a DSLR".

True enough, the reaons, the way reasons should be, are very true and immediatly i throw the idea of buying a SLR out of the window. Now i am really glad i read that page and saved a lot of money.

Must be the fact that my wife's brother is getting married, i got on to youtube and search for videos on wedding convoys. I seriously wonder why i did that but after i did that, i took out my own wedding DVD to look at my own convy. It's a whole lot messier then what i saw on youtube. I've got the 8 cars to pick up the bride (more followed on the way back), the following:

Mitsubishi Lancer (My wedding Car)

Entourages:
Mitsubishi Lancer
Subaru Impreza
Suzuki Swift
2 x Toyota Vios
Toyota Altis
Toyota Corolla
(No wonder they say Toyota is a top seller right?)

But it was hell loads of fun, we drank like mad at the end of the event and i honestly can't remember a thing after that. I was telling myself the next poly friend that gets married (if he/she clicks) i will not drive, and we'll drink like mad again.

Let's wait

Telepathy Dream

"there was a loud crashing sound in our room in the middle of the night"

Mr Neo: (sitting up) Whats that noise? Something dropped?
Mrs Neo: (awaken by the motion) What noise?
Mr Neo: Did you hear a loud noise? Something dropped.
Mrs Neo: I thought that was in my dream.. You can hear ah?
Mr Neo: Its' not your dream. If it is how can i hear, something really drop

A Short Working Week

8hours on Monday, that's all the time i worked this week.

The rest of the week i had the time off, slacking around on my bed, having food delivered to me and getting off bed only to shower or go toilet.

Sounds like a great break hor. But of course, it's not lor. Extreme food poisoning got the better of me.

Dawn of Tuesday, I vommited the hell out of myself coupled with bowel movements that lit my buttocks on fire. This went on for nearly 2hrs before i dragged myself to a 24hr clinic to get 2jabs + tons of pills.

Ahh.. I'm so sick i cun be bothered to blog more on this horrid experience.

Anyway, ended up with 3days MC and i took another day leave to make sure i get all well before i get back to work.

I sure hate the runs....

Bling! My Life!

I scrapped off the logo on my car to bling it up with swaroski crystals.

It's really not easy, doing it piece by piece, crystal by crystal. But i'm freaking addicted to th end result.

Can't wait to finish it... But i am running out of crystals. So, guess its gota wait.

I belong to the 85%

I've read an article with regards to work and it says that 85% of people are in a job that they don't like but does that for 5days a week so that they can enjoy the 2 weekends with things they like to do.

A mere 15% does what they like the whole week. These people are not my friends.

It's 5.30pm (Friday) i wonder when 6pm will come. I start to imagine not having to work for 2days, planning my schedule for the weekends better then how i plan my appointments for the week!

I look at my computer screen showing my inbox. I seriously felt like slamming it onto the floor and giving the CPU a "no shadow kick" followed by some "bench crushing headbutt" to my workstation.

Aiyah.. I din't do any of such. I guess i needed the salary lor. I just have to settle for 2 happy days a week kind of idea for the rest of my life.

Still haven reach 6pm lor.....

Wedding Invite (Soft Launch)

A msn chat with The King of The Jungle, Leo the Lion.

Leo: You are in my invite list for my wedding...
Mr Neo: Ohh good, when is that?
Leo: I don't know, haven plan yet. But confirm you will be invited.
Mr Neo: Ohh cool! Thanks!
