11 Things they did not and you will not, learn in school

I read this off Google and I thought its really interesting.

--------------

Rule 1: Life is not fair – get used to it!

Rule 2 : The world won’t care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Rule 3 : You will NOT make $60,000 a year right out high school. You won’t be a vice-president with a car phone until you earn both.

Rule 4 : If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

Rule 5 : Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your Grandparents had a different word for burger flipping burgers - they called it opportunity.

Rule 6: If you mess up, it’s not your parents’ fault, don’t whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

Rule 7: Before you were born, your parents weren’t boring as they are now They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes and listening to you talk about how cool you thought you were. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parent’s generation, try delousing the closet in your own room.

Rule 8: Your school may have done away with winner and losers, but life HAS NOT. In some schools, they have abolished failing grades and they’ll give you MANY TIMES as you want to get the right answer. That doesn’t bear the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

Rule 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off and very few employers are interested helping you FIND YOURSELF. Do that on your own time.

Rule 10: Television is NOT real life. In real life peo actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to jobs.

Rule 11: Be nice to nerds. Chances are you’ll end working for one.

Sleepy head

I thought I was pregnant.

Must be a dream... but the extreme pain from my left leg cramp sure felt like an episode during when Mrs Neo was pregnant.

I know leg cramps are painful (I get them from running and soccer before), but I never had it during my sleep. Needless to say, my virgin experience was one (horrible) to remember, made worst by the fact that I have the boys sleeping between Mrs Neo & I.

I could not do any big actions nor could I shout for help. Tried to stretch, but the pull was so tight that I fell right back. I finally found a pillow and threw it at Mrs Neo.

*throw*

*lands on Mrs Neo*

*no reaction*

Dammit! Right about then, my veins and muscle was about to snap. With my other non cramping leg, I managed to do 3 kick to somewhere on Mrs Neo. And she finally woke up. I tried not to scream, but still was talking very loudly due to the pain.

Mr Neo: My left leg cramp. Stretch it, help me push.

Mrs Neo: *starts massaging my toes*

Mr Neo: Push!! Don't massage.

Mrs Neo: *pushes the sole*...*starts massaging toes again*

Mr Neo: Just push! Don't touch my toes.

Mrs Neo: *still massaging toes*

Mr Neo: Darling stretch my leg, its going to break!

Mrs Neo: *finally does it right for 10 secs*

-finally eased the cramp-

Mr Neo: Okay liao.

Mrs Neo: *falls back to bed and deep breathing in 5 seconds*

I bet she don't recall what happen.

My leg now still feels a little ache because of the cramp.

Domestic Helper - 传说中的 Lisa

I have 5 sisters, out of which 4 employs domestic helper. Co-incidentally, all from Indonesia.

Because of Ev.En., we too have Lisa. Also from Indonesia.

She helps with the everyday household chore and primary her task is to help my Mum look after the boys.

As all helpers, she makes a fair bit of mistakes, does some smart stuffs, misplace a few things, but sometimes play with the boys as if they are her own (which is good).

She have basic English education, but when she arrived, its a chicken and duck situation, we taught her and she's really so much better already.

but far from perfect....

- - - - -

Mr Neo: Lisa did you write down the time KorKor took porridge?

Lisa: Sorry Sir, Lisa forget.

Mr Neo: Okay you write now, 2O'clock. Two Zero Zero.

Lisa: Huh? Lisa don't know

Mr Neo: Two Jiro Jiro la.

Lisa: Ohh Two Jiro Jiro ah?

Mr Neo: Yes, write down now.

Rumble...

Mr Neo: Darling, yesterday you snore leh.

Mrs Neo: Tired mah, as if you never snore before.

Mr Neo: But its really loud, I was wondering if it will wake the boys up.

Mummy: Nowadays, I snore too.. Must be very tired. Just the other day, I snored so loud, I gave myself a shock and woke up!

Mr Neo: 哇。一定很大声。

我回来了!

I actually had people asking me if I am giving up my blog!

Well, I'm not.

But its just that I'm too overwhelmed by the responsibility if being a Daddy. The boys are now a year old.

Hmm... how time flies.

Parenthood have surely exposed the other side of marriage. When two person comes together and starts living together till they are ready to start a family.

Children like they all say, are great binding "tools", they make you love each other more (at times, because of different views, hate each other more) and totally a reason to be home.

I actually run home every time I come back from an overseas trip! Just so I can quickly see them. My body seems to produce this excitement that makes me wanna hug them almost immediately when I touch down.

---

Inevitably, we have our first time mistakes as parents and bumped around a lot.

From what to buy to what to do.

Patents actually make a lot of decisions for the baby.
* what time to sleep
* when to give them water
* what brand of milk powder to give

The list just goes on.

Children are and will continue to be an expensive affair. But having them is priceless. Their little actions proves so much to us. Recently, I have been home more and they start sticking to me, crawling over and asking me to carry.

This feeling is AWESOME!

Waking up at night seems a almost normal routine to me. In fact its 2.38am now as I punch away one my mobile.

What happened to those last night clubbing, internet gaming, or just hanging out watching Tv?

Well..... they don't exist. I'm a Daddy now you know. I can forgo almost anything for them.

If you don't understand how u feel, chances are, you're not the father of someone yet. Words itself cannot describe the simple term of Parents.

We are so lucky to be blessed with twins. I actually cannot answer when people ask me if its a very busy affair - I never had a single baby birth to compare with! Haha.

Also, I'm pretty sure if you ask parents of single baby. They will tell you they are busy too (they don't have twins to compare to!), so I summarized that all parents are happily busy people.

And have I been neglecting Mrs Neo because of the boys? How would I?!?! I love her tons you know!

*this evening before the boys slept*

Mr Neo: Darling, do you love me?
Mrs Neo: Yes.
Mr Neo: What do you love me about?
Mrs Neo: Everything about you.
Mr Neo: Just tell me one thing.
Mrs Neo: Ehhhhh...
Mrs Neo: I don't know
Mr Neo: Haha. 妈的。。

So I conclude. Love is not what you say, but is that smile that you put on your spouses face. Everyday.

Today

Today, an idiotic person came and ask me an irritating question.

I gave the irritating question an honest answer and realise that it does not work, because irritating question require a dumb answer.

But I had problem giving dumb answer and decided to rephrase my honest answer - but the result was negative as well. Which was when I realised it was the person who is the root of the problem.

I gave one last attempt at an silly answer and person gave a smirk. I realised that person felt person had the upper hand. So I decided to put person down and told person:

Whoever made you think or told you that is silly and childish.

Person became upset, Mr Neo smiles.

Somerset, Salcedo Makati - Philippines / Makati

Hotel: Somerset Serviced Apartments - Salcedo, Makati
Star: ?
Feels like: 3*

The Somerset range of Serviced Apartments. www.somerset.com
Not exactly a hotel, but comes with the features and functions totally like one.

Ideally located in the heart of Makati, the apartment - locally they call it "Apartel" for Apartment Hotel is located in between soaring skyscrapers. It takes me 5 mins to walk to office and 1 min to walk to a Japanese Resturant, 30 seconds to cross the road to 7 - 11 and another 1min to have a drink at Starbucks.

Pros:
Prime location in the CBD area where everything and everywhere you wanted to go is within walking distance. A reasonable sized-room with a decent washroom that is further seperated into the shower and W.C area.

Everything you need to stay for a couple of days was there. You have the iron, if you need to press your shirts, a mini stove to cook some stuffs - it is however, a service apartment, so that explains the full set of cooking utensils. People stay here for extended periods.

Lighting were easily controlled by the bed side and i love the digital controlled air con unit.

Did i say it's cheap too? USD 120/night with breakfast.
Hotel rates are going USD 180 - 200/night in that area!

Cons:
Sound insulation was bad, i can hear people talking outside the walkway, the lift and all loud noises.

Internet was free by cable, but you needed to get a new password from the counter everyday. Why? I don't know.
The wareobe also did not have internal lighting. It's not a must, but felt dim when you open it up with no lights. No bathroom slippers which made me feel that the washroom was "sticky" - must be some detergent they use that's cheap and made it sticky. Could have avoided it, if they gave me bathroom slippers.

Bed was way too hard for my comfort. But this is personal. If you like hard beddings. You would love this rock that i slept on.

Overall, i rate this apartel 6 out of 10.
I would love to try the hotels around the area during off peak seasons when the price is more reasonable.

Evergreen Laurel Hotel - Malaysia / Penang

Hotel: Evergreen Laurel Hotel - Penang
Star: 4*
Feels like: 3*

Along the street where the hotel stands, you will find unlimited food options. From the beautiful beach facing resturants to the regular hawker food.

All the rooms in this hotel in sea view.

I wake up in the morning, look out the window and because of the close proximity to the beach, i see nothing by clear blue "sky". Actually it was the sea. The clear blue sea, reflecting off the skyline.

Pros:
This is really a basic feature hotel. All required amendities are there, but nothing else. My guess is that it's a beach hotel. There's really no point having fancy stuffs. Either that or maybe i am staying in the most basic room and it's no frills.

However, the bed was really comfortable. I did not have time to try the breakfast though.
Morning appointment was too early and i have a late night. So no comments on food. But it did not look too fancy. Should be a basic american breakfast.

The hotel also give voucher for massage at a cheaper rate.
Foot massage for 1 hr is at a discounted MYR 20.00. Cheap!

Internet was speedy too. Which is neat.

Cons:
The carpet on the floor is pretty old. Greenish in color - maybe due to coporate colors.
TV also did not have much channels, there is no cartoon network, which happens to be my favourite channel when i travel.

Checking in was a breeze, however, checking out was very slow. Only had 2 ladies at the counter trying to clear people off and they have to call and check with room service if i took any chocolates from the mini bar! Aiyoh, trust me mah. Anyway, that made everything very slow.

Overall, i rate the hotel 7 out of 10.
Would love to stay in other hotels down the stretch next trip like G Hotel which looks really cool.

Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow
